For six years, the Dow Jones sustainability indexes have tracked companies that thrive by "Integrating long-term economic, environmental and social aspects in their business strategies while maintaining global competitiveness and brand reputation." They deal with some $3.6 billion in assets. The North America and United States indexes just started this year. Out of 18 market sectors, the three U.S. companies on top are 3M for industrial goods and services, Procter & Gamble for non-cyclical goods and services, and Intel for technology.
